Welcome to The Jazz Piano Method!
Learn jazz piano by mastering real standards from start to finish.
A clear, step-by-step method to build voicings, rhythm, and improvisation skills.
By the end, you’ll be able to play a complete standard with confidence.
Jazz piano can feel overwhelming if you don't know where to start.
The Jazz Piano Method was created for adult beginners and early intermediate players who want real, structured progress.
Instead of generic exercises, every lesson is built around a real jazz standard you already love, like Autumn Leaves or Fly Me to the Moon. You'll learn the melody and bass line first, then layer in authentic jazz voicings, walking bass, and improvisation — one clear step at a time. No prior music theory or advanced sight-reading required. Just a proven path from your first notes to playing a complete jazz standard with real swing and confidence.
Each course is built around a real jazz standard, guiding you from the basics to a complete performance.

What piano level do I need before starting? This method is designed for adult beginners and early intermediate players. If you can play simple melodies with your right hand and have basic familiarity with the keyboard, you're ready to start. No advanced technique required.
Do I need to read sheet music? Basic reading helps but isn't required. Every lesson includes a virtual keyboard with note names and a scrolling score with note names too, so you can follow along step by step even as a complete beginner.
How long does it take to learn one standard? Most students complete the 4 modules of one standard in 4 to 8 weeks, practicing 20-30 minutes a day. Module 1 (melody and bass line) is designed to feel achievable within your first week.
Do I need to know music theory? No prior theory is required. Each module introduces just enough harmony (like basic jazz chords and voicings) as you need it, in the context of a real song — not as a separate theory course.
I'm an adult starting piano for the first time. Is this still for me? Yes, this method was specifically built for adult learners who want real musical results without years of classical training first. You'll learn a complete, recognizable jazz standard from day one.
What's included in the Full Course pack? All 4 modules, practice videos at multiple tempos, PDF guides for roots, voicings, walking bass and arpeggios, plus a bonus harmonic analysis module.
